Alan Nelson of The Command Post
Presented a speech to the Associated Press Managing Editors, who are of major newspapers that subscribe to the AP wire service. The gist of his topic basically was, how the newsrooms of the future, (actually present), will have to adjust to the forces of the new environment of technology, including blogs. You really must go to his post, click the title, which of course includes a pic of Dan Rather and some darling angel pajamas.
Reading his speech I couldn't help but feeling somewhat sorry for those members of the MSM who really do not know what has hit them. In a way, it is reminiscent of the Beltway and investigative journalism via Woodward and Bernstein of the Watergate saga. Rathergate was the illustrative case used to make Nelson's points, very effectively. I'm not going to excerpt, the whole piece needs to be read in one fell swoop, then re-read.
btw-I now know that I'm a 'maven,' which is certainly better than some things I've been called.
